Iran issues sinister warning of Trump's 'suicide' as US sets 8pm deadline
Iranian officials lobbed cryptic threats toward the U.S. on Telegram Sunday, warning that "severe turbulence from inside U.S. soil" would occur soon due to "Trump's suicide."
President Donald Trump, who told Tehranian officials they had until 8 p.m. EST on April 7 to reopen the Strait of Hormuz or endure hellish retaliation from the U.S., has relentlessly threatened the Islamic nation since the outset of the war on Feb. 28. Iran has responded by attacking U.S. allies in the Middle East and claiming it is unwavering in its stance against Americans and Israelis.
Tehran escalated its threats Sunday in a message posted on Telegram. It translates to "Trump's suicide probably brought the consequences of the war into the country. Apart from setting fire to all American interests in the region, the consequences of the war will probably be extended to the American soil as well," according to Iranian state media.
"This issue does not mean firing missiles at America; And Trump lied about this before the war and is still lying. But Trump will see that there will be severe turbulence from inside the US soil."
Trump issued another stern threat to Iran at the start of Easter Sunday, claiming that American forces would launch a series of strikes against civilian infrastructure targets in Iran within two days.
The US president announced on Truth Social early Sunday morning that Tuesday will be "Power Plant Day" and "Bridge Day" for American soldiers selecting targets in the region, adding: "Open the F-----' Strait, you crazy b-------, or you'll be living in Hell."
Trump ended the message by saying, "Praise be to Allah."
The president has threatened to launch a more severe round of assaults if Iranian forces do not open the vital waterway, which is a crucial route for a significant portion of the world's oil commerce.
As a result, U.S. forces are still conducting strikes within Iranian airspace. Global oil prices have surged above $100 per barrel due to the closure of the Strait of Hormuz.
However, there is no indication that Trump's threats have been successful, and Iranian officials insist that real peace negotiations are not taking place.
The president is furious over the matter and has been threatening Iran's military and civilian people with increasingly harsher and more serious warnings over the past week.
The implication on Sunday that Trump is thinking about attacking Iranian civilian infrastructure is similar to previous messages he has issued lately in that it raises the possibility that the U.S. military could break international law by extending its reach to non-military targets.
His latest messaging blunder came on Saturday when he wrote that he would "reign down hell" on Iran if the Strait wasn't opened.
The White House and the administration as a whole are trying to convince the skeptical American public and Congress-where the Pentagon is requesting billions to fund the war effort-of the president's growing war.
